Vailima Breweries has once again taken the naming rights of the upcoming Marist 7s international rugby tournament next month as the major sponsor with a $60,000 sponsorship.

The Marist Association President, Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemision, said the Saint Joseph Marist Old Pupils Association appreciates the ongoing support of Vailima Breweries.

"The Saint Joseph Marist Old Pupils Association is humbled and grateful for the continuous support by the Vailima Breweries and for coming on board to sponsor the Marist 7s," he said.

The partnership between Vailima Breweries and the Marist Association has a 25-year history with the Samoa Vailima Breweries C.E.O. Brent Adams making reference to the relationship.

"The Vailima has been sponsoring the sevens for 25 years since it's the sport that is mostly loved by our people," he said. "Today, we are donating $60,00 tala to the Marist association to help out with their preparation of the Marist 7s international tournament."

Mr Lemisio received the donation on behalf of the Marist Association and said it will go a long way in ensuring the tournament preparations are on track.

"This donation will be a great help in terms of getting everything ready for the tournament," he added.

The Vailima Breweries is also extending its assistance to tournaments associated with rugby league, touch rugby and boxing sporting codes.

The Marist 7s tournament is set to commence on February 14, 2020 and is a two-day event. This year's tournament will be 32nd in the history of the tournament.
