Acting Police Commissioner, Leiataua Samuelu Afamasaga, has clarified claims from a woman on social media saying the police forced their way into her house and broke the windows and the front door.

According to this woman, the police broke into the house while no one was at home and also without issuing a search warrant.

However, Leiataua clarified the issue, saying that when the police arrived at Tuana'imato, a person who was inside fled, and they could not issue the warrant they had.

"According to the law, the police can use force if the person or persons present at a suspected home refuse to cooperate, and that is what the police did that day during the latest raid," he said.

Leiataua said the police will not back down or halt their mission to try to wipe out and eliminate drugs from Samoa.

This home at Tuana'imato belongs to Stuart Webber, a man formerly convicted of drug-related offences.

The house was raided during one of the police's latest drug raids last week, where 17 people were charged, 15 men and two women.

According to Leiataua, all these people are unemployed and were suspectedof being involved in drugs.

Reports from members of the public and hints the police received from prior raids assisted them in continuing with this campaign of eliminating drugs from Samoa.

The raids continue despite the festive season.
