Christmas baby says hello

The first Christmas baby for 2025 is a beautiful baby boy from Alamutu, Saleimoa, weighing in at 2.54 kilograms and born at 12.03 am.

The mother and baby were surrounded by the midwives who successfully delivered the first Christmas baby.

Proud parents Sara Vaaaoao and Afoa Sene Vaa said this baby is a precious gift to them both.

Proud grandmother Sara said they didn't expect that this was the time they would have a grandchild.

"This is a special Christmas present for our family," she said.

The parents said they would be naming the baby boy "Talitigaoaiga"
