Between the Lines
ABUSE
Many students waiting in line at the local university were left speechless after a man in a uniform cut through the waiting group to get service. A uniform is not a license to abuse rules anywhere.
WAITING
Residents in Moamoa are still waiting for a new bridge after learning that the tender for the project was given in July. If the infrastructure is being planned for the last five months, it had better be world-class.
HOT
It has been hot with temperatures soaring. According to the older folks, such conditions usually signal cyclones. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that this is not the case.
FLOODING
Wet weather has gripped the region. There are reports of flooding in neighbouring countries after continuous downpour. A low-pressure system is moving in, and if your area is prone to floods, do take precautions and keep the children out of flooded creeks and rivers.
LIGHTS
Local businesses and offices in the township are doing what they can to set up Christmas lights. There is still no word if a lighting competition will be on this year. The superannuation organisation did not do much last year; hopefully, things are different this year.
BREAK-IN
House break-ins are on the rise again. A homeowner returned to find his home broken into. The thief or thieves took all food items, cash and stole the man’s gun. So, if someone is selling a gun, please check for ownership details.
