Between the Lines
CAMPING
It looks like supporters of a red party candidate will be camping away from home this weekend. Most were still gathered at their favourite fale in Toamua late Wednesday evening.
THURSDAY VOTE
Let us hope that some people do not turn up to polling booths on Thursday. Some people still think that voting starts on Thursday because of the public holiday. Some are wondering why there is a two-day holiday.
BALLOT BOXES
Is that box safe? Many voters remain doubtful that the new ballot boxes are as strong as the older wooden ones. These are the same type used in Australia for elections. They are called tamper-proof ballot boxes.
BUSES
There is still no word from bus operators on whether they will provide the essential public transport service to voters on Friday. The bus operators can also look forward to collecting handsomely.
TURKEY TAILS
A current political heavyweight was best known for a box of turkey tails in 2013. It is said that newspapers have always been a source of historical knowledge. This is the one for today. Any guesses who this prolific politician is?
TEUILA
Congratulations to the Lepea women’s cricket team. They won the Teuila Cricket Championship after six years. Good to see that some Teuila traditions are still going despite the festival being scrapped.
