An environmental concession initiative, which was donor-funded, has been temporarily halted. The reason is that there are not enough funds. People will have to wait for other projects funded by donors until the election is over.

BUSES

It was a wonderful sight as the red party introduced their new buses, one for Savaii and one for Upolu. Just a reminder. Transporting voters to polling venues is regarded as treating and an offence under the electoral laws.

TATTOO

The Samoa Police Band will be among other police forces from across the Pacific gathering in Papua New Guinea on 22 July for the inaugural Pacific Police Band Tattoo, a vibrant musical and cultural showcase.

DENGUE

Dengue is still around. There have been reported cases of adults and children. The solution is simple. Keep your yard clean and ensure there are no places where mosquitoes can breed.

PROBE

While the police have confirmed that a probe has started in the case where a former MP took out $50,000 without the knowledge of the council, many are hoping it will finish before the election.

UNDERAGE

The recent case where a musician allegedly assaulted a teenager happened inside a nightclub. How was it that the teenager despite having parental consent was allowed inside the club? Don’t people have to be over 21 to enter nightspots.
