Between the Lines
MEETING
Heads of political parties could head to the top judge’s chambers for a meeting called by the elections office. That is what the grapevines are saying. It sounds serious.
VIOLATIONS
The elections office has yet to act on the continuous violation of electoral laws by the parties. Campaigning continues despite a time frame being announced. There needs to be some tough decisions made.
TICKETS
Hopefully, by next weekend, the organisers of the Manu Samoa and Scotland match can fill Eden Park. Even after prices were slashed, there has been no news about ticket sales.
HYPE
There was much hype given to a panel discussion that was supposed to feature political heavy hitters. The blue party sent their reserve, while the others sent non-travelling reserves. The heavy hitters do not want to be in a situation where they have to face their opponents. Most prefer to make comments when the other person is not there.
FILARIASIS
Many Pacific nations have been able to eradicate elephantiasis or filariasis through mass drug administrations. The disease is still prevalent in the country.
FAIR WAGE
