Between the Lines

CAMPAIGN

The political parties are resilient as ever. Despite the notice by the elections office on when campaigning should be done, parties continue to push their promotions through social media. Hopefully, this does not come back as court dates.

BOOTED

The grapevine has it that members of a political party were given the boot when they went to a businessman’s office demanding sponsorship. Are there money issues affecting one of the political parties? It may appear so.

NO RETURN

There is more word from the grapevine. It may appear that a board member whose position was recently downgraded may not get a nod again to return once his term ends.

US SAMOANS

Expect fewer and fewer Samoans to be coming from the United States. The Trump administration is prohibiting even green card holders from re-entering the US.

TWO SAMOAS

Politics is interesting in either of the two Samoas. A movement has started to garner support to remove the recently elected governor in neighbouring American Samoa.

LIVE GAME

Good news for Manu Samoa fans. The match against Scotland on 18 July will be broadcast live on a free-to-air channel. The match is being played at Eden Park because of the condition of the grounds at home.
