Between the Lines
HARD WAY
A woman learnt why only lawyers, witnesses and the judge are allowed to make comments in the courtroom, the hard way. The spectator could not stop making comments and laughing during a witness's testimony, leading to her removal.
CHAMELEON
There will be political chameleons galore during the election period. One was spotted sitting next to a candidate during his handover to a political party. The same person was linked to the candidate’s opponent, who is his family member, until a few days ago.
DONORS
Political donors are sweating, not knowing who to give to. With no clear favourites in sight, most have ended up giving it to the three main players in this election. They do not want to be on the wrong end of the stick if the results are not in favour.
PARTY HQ
The new political party has set up its headquarters at a hotel belonging to a member. The last time a political party used a member’s property, they ended up paying a large sum for its use.
WARZONE
Fuel prices will hit a new high with the recent war between Iran and Israel. There is also no word from the government on whether they will seek help to rescue Samoans in these countries.
LEFT OUT
A study shows that 91 per cent of children in Samoa get a good old style of Samoan discipline. Broken down, this means that in a group of 10, only one child has not been given a physical punishment. While some say this is horrific, others sarcastically claim that the one child is feeling left out.
