SUB JUDICE

Judges and juries have been popping up, giving their two cents on the high-profile case before the court. Here are two words: Sub judice, meaning under judicial consideration and therefore prohibited from public discussion elsewhere.

PERJURY

In Samoan law, perjury, or lying under oath, is a serious offence, similar to how it's viewed in many common law jurisdictions. A person commits perjury when they knowingly make a false statement under oath or affirmation in an official proceeding, to deceive.

ALCOHOL

It was good to see a warning issued by the rugby house for the semi-finals of the NPC this weekend. Alcohol is not permitted at the Lakapi Samoa grounds. This will also help in preventing fights that happen during the games.

BEERS

The liquor board had come out strongly warning brewers to bring the alcohol content in local beers below five per cent. Two years have passed since, the beers remain as strong as before.

APIA PARK

Apia Park continues to host top local games and even a tournament where overseas teams are coming. The big grandstand remains condemned and not in use.
