Alumni gift 10 computers to Avele College

The Avele College Old Pupil Association, Class of 1995–1999, donated 10 brand new computers, complete with equipment, to the school’s computer lab.
The donation was officially presented on Monday, 1 September 2025, with several members of the class present to assist with the installation.
This marks the first major donation by the association, which was established in 2019 and includes more than 40 members across Samoa, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and American Samoa.
The New Zealand branch, led by Leilua Andrew and Leaupepe Faamaile, played a key role in putting this generous contribution together.
Alongside their donation, the association has also maintained an ongoing scholarship award for the most improved student moving from Year 12 to Year 13. This support covers school and PSSC fees as well as stationery, helping families and motivating students to work hard.
The association is led by President Galumalemana Manu’a Fuimaono Auimatagi Tuiatafu Lander, Vice President Tofaeono Tile Iupati Tofaeono, and Treasurer/Secretary Lilomaiava Samual Ieremia.
Members reflected with pride that when they graduated in 1999, Avele did not have a computer lab, yet many of them went on to become leading IT specialists in Samoa. Around six to seven from their class are now high-profile IT experts, and they were on hand to help with the installation of the new computers.
The group said this donation is just the beginning, with more contributions planned to ensure future generations of Avele students have access to valuable resources.
