Former police officer secures Siumu seat

Former police officer, Fa'alogo Kapeliele II Fa'alogo, secured the Si'umu seat after a neck-to-neck race to the results with former member of parliamentarian Tu'u'u Anasii Leota.

Fa'alogo contested as an independent, received 492 votes, with Tu'u'ureceiving  456 final votes after the official count.

Other candidates, Faiva Laulaufolasa Luamanuvae of HRPP, had 335 votes, with Tofaeono Meaalofa Tofaeono, an independent candidate, getting 19 votes.

Tu'u'u Ekiumeni Fauolo had a total of 39 votes altogether after the final count for Si'umu.

A number of 1341 valid votes have been recorded for Siumu with 54 special votes, 78 pre-polling and four informal votes.
