Human Rights Protection Party's Faumuina Opapo Soanai Oeti secured the Faleata 1 seat in a close race with another HRPP candidate getting 1427 votes and FAST 1423 votes.

Faumuina gained 94 special votes and 122 votes from pre-polling.

When Faleata 1 constituency's final count was almost done, horns and cheers were heard outside the compound of the operation centre. Police confirmed these were Faumuina's supporters.

HRPP now stands with 14 seats.

Total valid votes for Faleata 1 are 4753, and it was recorded as one of the highest turnouts.
