Teenagers attacked with machete
Two teenagers, including a 13-year-old, are admitted to the Moto'otua Hospital with critical injuries sustained after they were attacked with a machete, which the police say is a result of a land dispute.
According to police, a 34-year-old man from Amaile has been charged and taken into custody after he allegedly attacked the two victims because of a land dispute.
The two boys, 19 and 13, are still going through treatment because of the critical injuries they received last week.
The accused has been charged with attempted murder and armed with a dangerous weapon and will appear before the Supreme Court on 23 June for mention.
Police Commissioner Auapa'au Logoitino Filipo said the two victims are from Samusu, Aleipata.
This is the latest incident of such a dispute where lands are involved.
In an earlier incident, a man from Tufulele lost his arm because of a land dispute after being attacked by four men from Faleasi'u-Uta.
All four defendants are due to appear before the court this month to face charges of attempted murder while one of them is charged with armed with a dangerous weapon namely a machette.
