Tiatia Graeme Tualaulelei is vying to contest the Vaimauga No.4 seat under the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) banner. He said he will prioritise the youth of his district, pushing for job opportunities.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer at Petesa Headquarters after he was introduced to the HRPP by his village council and supporters, Tiatia said he thanked God for this opportunity.

"I want to use this opportunity to be a servant for my constituency if they allow me to become their member of parliament in the general election," he added.

Tiatia said he believes the voices of the people of Vaimauga No.4 have not been heard.

"That is why if I am to be elected by the people of my constituency I will make sure to voice the concerns and the needs of these people in parliament," Tiatia said.

"These developments include health, education, employment opportunities for youth and better roads."

Tiatia believes that youth in his constituency have the potential to continue their education and it's a matter of where they turn for financial assistance to do so.

"I believe in pushing continuous education for adults who have not completed tertiary level and the area of apprenticeships or trade schools," he said.

He believes that there is a very high percentage of young men and women who are at home without jobs because they could not continue their education.

Tiatia is one of the five candidates who will be vying for the Vaimauga No.4 seat. He will be up against caretaker Minister of Police, Faualo Harry Schuster, former Minister of Justice Faaolasa Katopau Ainu'u and Vaea Ivana Eli.

"I know it's not gonna be an easy one contesting with our current member of Parliament and also other candidates but I'll leave it to the people of my constituency to vote for who they believe will help be their voice in Parliament," Tiatia said.
