Loau stopped from voting at Aele
The Human Rights Party candidate for Sagaga No.1, Loau Keneti Sio, was stopped from casting his vote because of a misunderstanding.
Loau turned up at the Aele polling booth and was told by a police officer that he could not cast his vote there.
After discussions that lasted for more than 10 minutes, he was eventually allowed to vote.
Loau in an interview with Samoa Observer on Friday afternoon, said he was disappointed and didn't know why the officials came up with the thought that he was not supposed to vote at Aele.
Loau said he told the police officer on site to tell the officials that he is a voter from Sagaga 1 and one of the two candidates.
According to him, it was after this, he was accepted.
Loau said he was the second one to cast his vote.
"Apart from the misunderstanding in the morning, everything is calm here at Sagaga 1," Loau said.
