Between the Lines

GENIUS

The new parking spots near the government buildings in town are genius. Pedestrians are now getting the experience of walking on the road, with the footpaths turned into parking spaces.

IRONIC

A couple of football clubs are looking for a new venue to train. The teams were told that they could not play the sport that the organisation owning the ground promotes, and gets a hefty share from its parent body to do so.

RUSH

Try to have a lighter foot on the pedal. The festive season is a hectic time, and accidents do happen. Two cars zoomed off the road while speeding at two different locations in their haste.

SCENERY

Nature has provided some people with the perfect place to consume alcohol in public. The men who previously crowded the frontage of a shop in Vaitele have moved under a tree, in an open space, not far away. A change of scenery may have been in order.

SPEED CAMERAS

The use of speed radar guns by police at a checkpoint was a good change to the usual license checks. A better investment for the police could be speed cameras. A little extra revenue could mean pay rises.

BUSY ROADS

School holidays are upon us. More and more children are now chilling at home, given that some schools are in their last weeks. Do keep an eye on the smaller ones, as some play close to busy roads.
