Between the Lines

UPDATES

The caretaker PM called a second press conference in as many weeks. A bit too late to connect with the people via weekly updates. There was none when things were more dire or when people were calling for one. Maybe it is a lesson learnt.

TOADS

A biosecurity scanner or X-ray should also be placed on the international wharf. The threat from invasive species is far greater from neighbouring American Samoa. They have cane toads. Ask an Australian about the cane toad pandemic.

INTRUDERS

Two men walked into a compound believing no one was home. When the homeowner came out, the two turned and started walking away. Crime is escalating, and homes are not safe. Please lock your gates, even when at home.

SHOPLIFT

Security footage shows a young shoplifter stealing painkillers and headphones from a local shop. Not having something does not allow anyone the right to steal.

LONGER

It looks like it may require more than five weeks for the conspiracy trial to finish. More than 60 prosecution witnesses are still left. Longer hours for the court could help, but it is up to the bench.

HOAX

The hoax about dark vans abducting children has some children scared. Upon seeing one similar to the ones described in the hoax, some are running away or stand together in a bunch. Safety in numbers.
