Between the Lines

ABUSE

The budget debate would point out how the government intends to distribute the remainder of the district grants in a shorter time. Abuse of funds is more likely to happen.

MAYORS

Is the government going to remove the posts of village mayors? It seems the posts have come with an added cost that the government does not want to incur.

CHARGED

Some seasonal workers who were charged $600 as fees failed to get a spot on a recent trip. When they asked for a refund they were told that only half will be given back. Sounds like a scam.

BLIND SPOT

People getting off buses should remain on the side of the road until the bus moves away. Crossing from either front or behind a bus puts them in a blind spot. Most accidents happen for this reason.

SAFETY FIRST

Kudos to the emergency response team for pulling off the rescue of the three fishermen. Fishers need to have safety equipment on board, especially flares.

BRIEFINGS

The prime minister seems to be back in the country. The media are still awaiting her regular briefings which she promised more than a month ago.
