Better budgeting is needed from the public servants, as their pay was moved forward. This means they will be without pay for the next three weeks.

SUNDAY

The powers that be want to restrict business opening hours on Sunday. No reason has been given why such a step is necessary when the economy has started to grow, and activity should be promoted, not discouraged.

LOOKING ABROAD

A few qualified local professionals are looking for opportunities abroad. The public service could be losing some more experts.

ACCIDENTS

The Christmas rush and speeding make a dangerous cocktail. The boys in blue were alerted to a few accidents. One in Aleisa caused a traffic jam in the afternoon, while another was reported in Laulii.

BIKES

There are more bicycle riders on the road at night. The lack of light and or reflectors poses a danger. Then some riders have gone the extra mile to decorate their two-wheelers with Christmas lights.

FORBES

A familiar rugby face was seen in the country last week. Former New Zealand sevens captain DJ Forbes was in Lepa getting a matai bestowment.
