Between the Lines

SUNDAY

The government is talking about a Sunday restriction for businesses and other activities. The move sounds surprising and is sliding towards religious extremism. Nations need to stimulate the economy, not shut it down.

LEAVE

No announcement has been made yet, but at the same time last year, opening hours at the hospital were shortened to allow medical staff to take leave.

FERRY

Just a few more days to the new year, and no sight of the multi-million tala ferry yet. There is also no sign of any work at the wharf for a new ramp.

CAMERAS

The transport authority and the law enforcement agency need to talk and decide who will invest in speed cameras. The equipment is needed and will contribute to the revenue of the organisation that owns it.

REPAIRS

The courthouse in Mulinuu will be closed for at least a month, allowing its administration the perfect time to carry out renovations. However, no tenders or contracts have been announced.

RUSH
