Between The Lines

POWERFUL

Police roadblock at Faleula yesterday. Every single car and its driver was stopped and checked for a valid license. Except for an Associate Minister’s which was waved through!

BIG-HEADS

Government Ministry staff becoming big-heads. They emailed a service provider for a quote and expected an immediate reservation, but were told to bugger off with their “pagupagu English”!

PLEASURE

It pays for leaders to have switched on proactive PR officers, who can advise on the use of appropriate terms and words. The word ‘pleasure’ has a lot of connotations!

DISASTER

It’s been a disastrous OFC Champs League campaign for Samoa’s top football team. Lost two matches, and the third match yesterday was canceled due to player injuries!

AN IMPACT

You have to wonder if the team’s capitulation at the OFC campaign in Port Vila is connected to the current disharmony within the local governing body.

THANKS

A driver who wore shorts with a broken pocket was relieved yesterday after someone found his car key at Apia Park and returned it. Thanks to the anonymous Good Samaritan.
