Trainee Reporter Gutu Faasau and Photographer Filipo Ah Far talk to members of the public on the Manu Samoa recording a 23-20 victory over the Flying Fijians to clinch the 2022 Pacific Nations Cup last Saturday. Here is what they had to say:

Kaioma Lam Ah Ching, 47, Satui

"It was a very good game, it was such a satisfying game for me, it was music to my ears when I heard that we won. The first half looked like our loss but in the second half we scored try after try and we won. Thank God for giving our boys the strength to use their talents. Its good to see this new generation make use of their talents in the sport."

Mafutaga Molia, 22, Satui

"What I saw was amazing, especially when I watched our boys give all their effort in the second half. A big malo to the boys for their A-plus effort in making our country proud. Its nice to see them represent Samoa and bring home the win."

Richard Seiuli Leausa, 20, Sinamoga

"I really loved the game. The only thing disappointing to me was the bad communication between the players. You can tell in the first half that they were scared of Fiji. The Fijians have really big players and so do our boys, our boys are also big bodied. You can tell in the second half there was a big change, perhaps the coach said something to motivate the boys which built their confidence."

Lilian Perenise, 35, Vailele

"Good game, very good effort from the boys. Very good effort from our brother Theo who has been a long time friend to all of us here at Tanoa. Great job boys for winning the Pacific Cup and looking forward to see all of very soon."

Josephine Silva, 27, Vaimoso

"Well done boys, very good job and it was a spectacular game. They made us all proud with their victory. The Fijians got us scared in the first half but we came back strong in the second half. It is a milestone for Samoa to win the 2022 Pacific Nations Cup and it's very nice to be crowned as champions. Great job Manu Samoa."

Joanna Luatua, 24, Vaiala

"It was a good game. I saw that they gave all their best. All they had to do was support each other and work together. They had so much courage and well done to them for pulling it off. All the best in you future games and congratulations on winning."
