A Talofa Airways Twin Commando aircraft damaged its front and back wheels after landing at American Samoa's Pago Pago International Airport yesterday, according to Radio New Zealand.

It's suspected that there was a fault with the plane's hydraulics.

None of the passengers were hurt.

One of the passengers, Danita Adams, said the domestic flight had been delayed for half an hour before leaving Fagalii.

She said passengers were told there was a problem with the plane’s tyres.

"It was an okay landing it was just when the plane turned we heard the plane hitting the concrete," Ms Adams said.

"The tyres were pretty messed up, the back tyres and the front tyre.

I think the pilot himself was panicking but it was okay. All the passengers were calm, nothing serious."
