A man, woman and young girl were removed from an Air New Zealand flight at Faleolo International Airport on Wednesday night before departure for Auckland.

Sources said the man was stopped at immigration with a stop order before boarding the aircraft. His identity has not been revealed.

The incident comes days after two Samoan men confessed to a fatal shooting in Ho Chi Minh City. Video footage obtained by the Samoa Observer shows a man dressed in black being escorted by police at the airport.

In a statement issued late Wednesday night, the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services said it was seeking public assistance to locate Conner Strickert, who is wanted for questioning in relation to an ongoing police matter. Police have asked Mr Strickert to present himself at the nearest police station or contact authorities immediately.

More to come.
