Tuia officially steps down as Safata No.2 MP

Member of Parliament for Safata No.2 Tuia Paepae Letoa officially resigned from parliament on Tuesday morning.
His resignation from the constituency is to switch parties. He contested the 2025 general elections under the Human Rights Protection Party. Two months ago, he declared that he wanted to switch parties to the Faatuatua ile Atua Samoa ua Tasi Party because the district chiefs wanted him to.
Tuia was officially presented by his constituency to the FAST Party last Friday.
After the Speaker declares a vacancy notice, the Office of the Electoral Commission will work on announcing the date for the by-election.
