Mulipola is new Customs CEO, SWA gets new boss
Mulipola Lemalu Teofilo was appointed the new Chief Executive Officer for Customs, while Leota Namulauulu Maualaivao was appointed the new Samoa Water Authority boss, announced Prime Minister Laaulialemalietoa Leuatea Schmidt on Wednesday.
Mulipola's appointment was finalised on Wednesday and has been endorsed by the Minister of Customs, Masinalupe Leatuavao Makesi Pisi.
The government also reappointed Tuitoga Christina Faitele as the head of the Public Trustees Office for another three years.
The government stated that the decision reflects the cabinet’s approval and ministerial agreement on the preferred candidate for the leadership role.
Mulipola replaces Fonoti Talaitupu Lia Taefu, who had been serving as CEO since April 2023 and remains in office during the current transition period. Officials have not indicated an immediate handover date, suggesting continuity in leadership until the formal transfer of duties is completed.
Laaulialemalietoa said the appointments were made after a stringent selection process.
