Global Travel Samoa has been recognised at the Fiji Airways Travel Agent Awards held in Suva, Fiji, receiving one of the airline’s top awards for outstanding sales performance across the Samoan market.

The awards ceremony was hosted over Mother's Day weekend at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva and brought together International Air Transport Association (IATA) accredited travel agents from across the Pacific, including Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Tarawa, and Fiji.

IATA-accredited travel agencies from Samoa attended the event, including Global Travel, Jane’s Pasifika Travel, Retzlaff Travel Samoa, Trans Pacific Travel, Polynesia Travel and Tours. Global Travel owner, Jackie Fepuleai, said the recognition was a proud achievement not only for the company but also for Samoa’s travel industry.

“Global Travel was deeply honoured to receive Fiji Airways’ Top Awards in Suva, Fiji. This recognition reflects the loyalty and trust of our valued customers and the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” she said. The company received the top sales recognition in Samoa after exceeding Fiji Airways' 2025 sales targets.

Meanwhile, Jane’s Pasifika Travel and Retzlaff Travel Samoa were also recognised during the awards ceremony, receiving the “Most Improved” awards for their sales growth and performance.

“Fiji Airways continues to stand out as a full-service airline offering quality in-flight service, comfort, meals, entertainment, and genuine Pacific hospitality, which has made it a favourite amongst the people," she said. “In today’s aviation market, where many airlines are moving towards ‘no frills’ operations, Fiji Airways continues to deliver a premium experience that passengers truly appreciate.”

She also highlighted the important role travel agents continue to play within the airline and tourism industries.

“As travel agents, we play a very important role in supporting airlines like Fiji Airways. Travel agents continue to be the backbone of airline sales, customer service, group travel coordination, and passenger support, especially during disruptions and complex travel arrangements,” she said. “Behind every successful airline operation is a strong partnership between airlines and travel agents who work tirelessly to promote destinations, manage bookings, assist travellers, and maintain customer confidence.”

She acknowledged fellow Samoan IATA travel agents who travelled together to Fiji for the awards ceremony.

“It was wonderful to celebrate this special occasion together and recognise the important contribution that travel agents continue to make to the airline and tourism industry,” she said.

Special acknowledgement was also given to Fiji Airways staff, including the Regional General Manager Australia at Fiji Airways, Tuifaasisina John Nickel, and executives, for their ongoing support and partnership throughout the years.

“I would also like to personally thank and acknowledge Fabie Viali and her wonderful staff, Malelega, Sam and George, together with our very own Executive Team, especially John Nickel, for the tremendous support and partnership throughout the years. Your dedication and commitment to the industry are truly appreciated.”
