The Land Transport Authority (LTA) took quick steps to fix traffic lights at the Lepea Four Corner Intersection, which were damaged following a vehicle crash on Monday evening.
In a post shared by the LTA, it was confirmed that a vehicle collided with one of the traffic signal poles, causing significant damage and cutting the electrical wires that power the lights.
The authority said its team had been able to reinstate the traffic signals as quickly as possible.
Motorists travelling through the area were being urged to exercise caution when approaching the intersection, as the lack of functioning traffic lights poses a safety risk.
"Damaging traffic lights is a serious offence. It puts lives at risk, can cause accidents, and may lead to heavy fines or legal consequences. These systems are in place to keep everyone safe—let’s all do our part to respect and protect them," said the LTA.
