The ferry from Savaii transporting officials, police officers and ballot boxes from the 20 constituencies, did not arrive until 12 am on Saturday.

This was confirmed by Electoral Commissioner Tuiafelolo John Stanley.

Tuiafelolo said the delay for the preliminary counts for most polling booths in Savaii was the lateness of officials sending the results from Savaii and the ferry arriving late on Friday night.

The special ferry trip was on standby to transport officials and ballots back to Upolu. This included election officials, police officers and the ballot boxes from Savaii.

More than 500 officials, including Election Officers and Assistant Election Officers and IT personnel were assigned to carry out the rolls for all the voters in Savaii.

About 1100 Electoral Officials were assigned for Upolu, including Manono-Tai.

Tuiafelolo said the results at the moment are not certain until the official counts on Monday.

The pre-polling will be sorted for each constituency on Saturday. The special votes will be sorted for each constituency and will be counted on Monday.

Pre-polling, votes on general election and special votes will all be counted on Monday for the official counts of each of the constituencies.
