Galumalemana gets Forum job
Galumalemana Titi Tutuvanu-Schwalger has been appointed the Pacific Quality Infrastructure Adviser with the Pacific Islands Forum in Suva.
The former Lands Transport Authority boss will be based at PIFS in Suva.
Galumalemana, born and raised in Samoa, began her career with the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in 2012. She progressed steadily through the organisation, serving as Manager of Procurement and Programming Division and later as Manager of the Project Management Division. In 2018, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the LTA.
During her tenure, Galumalemana oversaw the successful implementation of major national transport and infrastructure projects, funded by the Government of Samoa and key development partners including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Government of Australia and the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
Galumalemana has been a strong advocate for gender equity in engineering, actively promoting the participation of women in a traditionally male-dominated field. She also championed the use of local expertise in donor-funded projects, strengthening institutional capacity across government, the private sector, and local communities.
Galumalemana holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Queensland, a Postgraduate Diploma and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from the University of the South Pacific, and she is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration to further deepen her leadership and management capabilities.
