The police are still investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at Fuluasou River at Tulaele on Sunday, around noon. According to the police, the woman is believed to be in her 30s.

Police Commissioner Auapa'au Logoitino Filipo told Samoa Observer that, according to statements made by some of the deceased's family members, the woman lived with her husband at Aleisa to look after a farm there.

Auapa'au said the family members told the police that they've been living with different families and were suspected to be involved with drugs (methamphetamine).

According to Auapa'au, the husband who is from Tuana'i, already made a statement saying that on Sunday, he went to look for food and when he came back, he found out that his wife had passed away while sleeping.

Auapa'au said he cannot confirm if foul play was involved and the police were still investigating how the body of this woman from Aleisa ended up at Fuluasou River in Tulaele.

The videos of the body of this woman wrapped up with a blue tarpaulin went viral on social media, with people questioning the cause of her death.

Auapaau said there is a possibility that there will be a post mortem to identify the cause of death for the deceased and her body is still at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital Morgue to await further investigations.
