Georgian ambassador visits Head of State

The Ambassador of Georgia Beka Dvali presented his credentials to the Head of State of Samoa Tuimalealiifano Va’aletoa Sualauvi II on Wednesday official state residence at Vailele.
The government of Georgia and Samoa have been in close partnership since the establishment of the diplomatic ties in March 2010. The collaboration between the two governments has grown through shared values such as respect for one another have contributed to the strengthening of their friendship ties for a peaceful course of existence.
The shared interest in multilateralism particularly within the United Nations provided an avenue to advance shared key global priorities, including democracy, territorial integrity, peace and security, human rights and the attainment of the 2030 agenda in sustainable developments.
“On behalf of my government allow me to convey words of gratitude to the head of state, and the government for the continuing support of Georgia Solar Energy and territorial integrity. We have interacted in many areas where my government has managed to support agendas that are very unfortunate for Samoa and the Pacific climate agenda," said Mr Dvali.
"The Government of Georgia offered also scholarships for Samoan citizens in 2017 for undergraduates and postgraduate courses in health and other priority areas. With education being the key pillar of Samoa's national development priorities such initiatives provide meaningful opportunities for capacity building and people-to-people lengths.
"We look forward to exploring further areas where our two nations are engaged to build practical cooperation whether in education, climate, health or youth development"
Mr Dvali hopes he will make a humble contribution to strengthening further the relationship and partnership bilaterally between the two nations.
Samoa has supported Georgia and continues to lend its support to Georgia at international organisations and UN elections promoting international cooperation to advance shared interest on global matters.
The head of state wishes the Ambassador all the best with his stay, in experiencing the hospitality and culture of the beautiful islands. Mr Dvali leaves Samoa this Friday after five days in the country.
