Mulipola at ECD international conference

Samoa is set to showcase its significant progress in early childhood development (ECD) at the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) conference, held this week in Penang, Malaysia.
Minister Mulipola Anarosa Ale-Molio'o and Chief Executive Officer Loau Donina Va'a of the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development are representing Samoa and the broader Pacific region at this prestigious event.
Mulipola serves as the Co-Chair of the Pacific Regional Council for Early Childhood Development (PRC4ECD), the only intergovernmental body worldwide dedicated to promoting early childhood development across nations.
Additionally, Loau also holds a pivotal role as the Co-Chair of the PRC4ECD Steering Committee, underscoring Samoa's leadership in this critical area.
The 2024 ARNEC conference aims to inspire actionable steps and provide policymakers and practitioners with the necessary tools and approaches to tackle current challenges in ECD.
Under the theme ‘Investing in ECD: An Effective Pathway for Building Resilience and Boosting Sustainable Development,’ the conference will gather a diverse array of ECD stakeholders. These participants will exchange ideas, share experiences, and commit to strengthening the E.C.D movement throughout the region.
Mulipola highlighted the advancements made in early childhood development across Samoa and the Pacific.
She also engaged in an exclusive roundtable discussion focusing on Samoa's specific progress and initiatives in ECD.
Loau will co-present on the achievements and challenges faced in the realm of early childhood development, discussing forward-looking strategies to enhance these efforts.
In addition to the Samoan representatives, colleagues from the Republic of Marshall Islands and UNICEF Pacific are also part of the conference.
Their presence underscores the collaborative spirit within the region, emphasizing the shared commitment to addressing the needs of early childhood development collectively.
This significant event offers Samoa a valuable platform to participate in global discussions on best practices in early childhood development and sustainable development. By aligning with international efforts to promote inclusive growth and equitable opportunities, Samoa aims to contribute to the global ECD agenda and showcase its progress on the world stage.
