More than 200 essential services employees and more than 100 patients will have the opportunity to vote on Friday when the Office of the Electoral Commission's mobile booth rolls in.

This was revealed by Electoral Commissioner, Tuiafelolo John Stanley, when asked why there wasn't a pre-polling booth at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole hospital.

Tuiafelolo said there will be a special mobile booth for essential services employees working at the national hospital.

This includes doctors, nurses, patients, caregivers, administrations and security officers.

"There will be a special mobile booth available for the national hospital on Friday, so all essential services employees can vote from the mobile booth," Tuiafelolo said on Wednesday.

All Savaii voters residing in Upolu can do special votes at the Multipurpose Gym One and Two on Friday.

Pre-polling was closed at 4 pm on Wednesday for elderly voters and voters with disabilities, and some essential services employees. There were more than 1000 voters permitted to pre-poll.

Meanwhile, all special votes will be counted on Monday and a recount of all the pre-polling votes together with the votes cast on the general election day.

Tuiafelolo reassures that all ballot boxes have special seals made in Australia, and there was no way someone could tamper with the boxes. Apart from the special OEC seals, there will be police seals.
