Go swing somewhere else

The playground at Sogi is for children.

And those swings there can only handle the weight of young kids.

Prime Minister Tuilaepa issued the reminder when he talked about the Apia redevelopment programme this week.

He said the playground is all part of making Apia more beautiful and user friendly for everyone, especially the children.

One day, Tuilaepa said he drove by the playground and saw something very strange.

“I saw a boy and a girl swinging back and forth on one of the swings,” he said.

He was going to just drive by and let it go but he chose not to.

“So I turned around and went back to the swing.”

Tuilaepa said he told them to go swing somewhere else and leave the swings for real children.

Good on you Stui.

Passport rumour quashed

We live in a world full of rumours.

Here in Samoa, there is absolutely no shortage of it.

Take the rumours about a shortage of passports at the Immigration Office.

Well it turns out; it’s news to C.E.O. Agafili and his staff.

“This is to confirm that the M.P.M.C. have new passports to cater for the needs of the country,” Agafili writes.

“Passport orders are placed well in advance for bulk purchase of new passports and there is another one arriving early next week. This shortage you are alleging is news to me.”

So there you have it folks. Now go and apply for that passport.

Late birds special a hit

It looks like SSAB is on to a winner with their late birds special promotion.

Last night, lots and lots of customers queued up outside the Megastore to take advantage of the goods on special.

There were lots.

But BTL also saw another crowd.

It was the lokeloke crowd.

The ones with no money but using the air condition and looking busy.

Just browsing thanks.

Why not? Seki a!
