DISAPPROVAL

More and more districts have been meeting about the appointment of chairpersons. There is growing disapproval, and there is an urgent need to address it. An authoritarian stance on this one could see a push back. Some more are holding meetings.

FIGURES

The number of sexually transmitted infections and HIV cases is being guarded like a state secret. Let the people know; it is part of creating awareness.

DRINKING

Drinking in front of shops is becoming the norm in some areas. In most scenarios, people drink and then leave. The problem here is that some of these drunk people catch buses to get home, and some like sneak a bottle or two on board.

NZ PM

The Prime Minister of New Zealand is due for a visit sometime this year. Indication is that the visit could happen in the first quarter of the year.

PROBE

A probe is needed into the death at the prison complex. Clarity is needed regarding the cause of death. Since the police now have a full-time forensic pathologist, this work would be done faster.

STRAYS

Walking along the footpath near the government buildings is getting dangerous. Over the weekend, a pack of stray dogs were attacking people crossing the area on foot after dusk.
