Between the Lines
AMUSING
It was an amusing read about an elected leader talking about intervening in a regional beauty pageant being held in another nation. Lessons in sovereignty and knowing where boundaries are need to be made clear. Perhaps, there should be an induction for new leaders on what they can and cannot do.
RAIDS
The law enforcement agency has been active with its drug raids. Reports suggest that even a man of the cloth was taken in after a raid along the South Coast Road.
NINJAS
Even bananas are not safe. A family discovered that someone had entered their compound and made off with three bunches of bananas during the night. Beware the Samoan ninjas.
THREE DAYS
If there are going to be three days of independence celebrations, it means that the money has already been budgeted for the event. Does this also mean that all civil servants will have three days off, or will there be a three-day public holiday? Nothing is impossible.
POLLS
The warrant for the Vaisigano seat has been issued, and under the law, a date for polls should be announced. Also, what is holding up the Safata by-elections?
PRAYERS
Music enthusiasts will be praying for fine weather this Friday. The biggest concert for Samoa is set to take place with the British reggae superstars. Rain will be a disaster for the open venue. Tickets are not cheap either.
