KEY POSITIONS

Senior executives in a government office have been told not to bother reapplying, as people loyal to the cause have already been identified to fill the key positions.

NOT SECURE

Top civil servants who are experts in their respective fields are slowly moving out of the public service. Some feel their jobs are insecure because of their political beliefs. Some are leaving Samoa for overseas.

BEST BEFORE

Best before 16 January means that the item needs to be taken off the shelf before that date and not up for sale on 16 January for a reduced price. Supermarkets need to take responsibility for the health and safety of the consumers.

FILLING

It was not the filling a family expected when they sliced a loaf of bread. A large piece of wire was found inside. It is not the same as opening a packet of Bongo and finding a candy inside.

FEES

Some students are hoping that unpaid fees are waived, and they are able to access the results from the national exams. Exam results should not be used to extort unpaid schools from families living on the poverty line.

NIGHT RIDES

Children on bicycles without lights and reflectors riding around at night are unsafe. After the Christmas holidays, many children are making good use of their new bikes, but safety precautions must be taken after dark.
