It is always about leading by example. When a minister’s vehicle is driving around with a toddler hanging out of the window, the public is bound to do the same. There are also laws against this.
TINTS
People are confused about the double standard. A man told BTL that he was booked by the police for having window tints that were darker than required by law. He is questioning why government vehicles, including police cars and ministers’ vehicles, are then exempted since the law is equal to all.
BACKLOG
There is an eight-year backlog for the audited reports before the parliamentary committee. That is what the deputy prime minister says. That means that the reports of the use of public funds in the district grants would be made available around 2033.
SNAKES
It seems that hanging the dead snake found in Siumu has scared off other snakes. There has been no other reported sighting of the harmless to humans, Pacific Boa.
NOT MY VILLAGE
An apparent argument has broken out between two village mayors. This has to do with a piece of land where rubbish was being dumped illegally. Both are arguing that the land does not fall under their village boundaries.
SARDINES
Packed like sardines. That is what the trays of trucks looked like on Saturday as many gathered to fly the Samoan flag ahead of the rugby league clash against Tonga. Last weekend, there was a mishap when a few fell off the tray of a moving truck.
