INJURED

Hopefully the boys who fell off the back of a Ford truck on Saturday in Beach Road are not badly injured. Some people have come off far worse. The dangers of riding in the tray of a pickup cannot be emphasised enough.

SDGs

A stocktake has to be done to see how many of the Sustainable Development Goals will the nation would achieve by 2030. The last time it was highlighted that Samoa was only at 12 per cent to achieving what it had agreed to do.

MONEY PROBE

Whatever has happened to the investigation by the police into the $50,000 that was taken from the Unit Trust without the approval of a district council. The matter was reported to the police.

UNION

There is a union body that represents civil servants but has been very quiet on the issues that has affected their pay for months. It should have a voice given that civil servants pay them dues which help in its operation.

FOOTPATHS

The busy side roads that have a high vehicle and pedestrian traffic need footpaths or as Americans call it – sidewalks. The pedestrians are often walking on the road and the vehicles are speeding. Are there plans in the budget or the district development grants for this?
