ROAD WORKS

There were angry motorists during the day as the resealing of the main Beach Road was in progress. The midday heat made it hard for many. Luckily, not many road rage incidents were reported.

TIMING

There has generally been an increase in road works. This is something people have welcomed as many have had to deal with below-standard roads for a long time. The timing of the capital works seems impeccable.

ROADSHOW

Just as the red and blue parties are doing, the green party will also do its roadshow. The reason given for delaying its roadshow is the sudden increase in dengue cases.

FIJI MEET

Just when everyone thought that all cabinet ministers would stay put in the country, the caretaker leader has jetted out to Fiji to attend the Pacific Islands Forum Women Leaders Meeting. Being one of the few women in the region to lead a country, Fiame’s presence was warranted.

FAULTY

It is surprising how some vehicles that are almost falling apart are still on the road. It becomes more interesting when these vehicles have stickers certifying their roadworthiness for another year. How are such vehicles and even faulty buses still on the roads?

APOLIMA

People in Apolima are hoping that a new wharf is on its way because a promise has been made for a bridge to Savaii. Compared to the bridge, the wharf is easy task.
