EMERGENCY

We are in the last days of the State of Emergency caused by the power crisis. It would be interesting to know how many people have been helped by the government initiative.

DEPORT

All that is known about the US deportation is that 57 Samoans will be returned home for overstaying and violating visas. It has not been said when the deportation will start.

CLIMATE HELP

Do not expect any climate change help from the US. Last week, the US closed its climate change office. If there are programs related to USAID and climate change, think twice.

GOVT BACKING

No word from the government on whether they would be backing Anae Arthur Anae’s petition seeking visa-free travel to New Zealand. Not much is expected given that they did not back the citizenship bill.

STREET NAMES

It seems that the naming of streets and giving houses allocated numbers has all of a sudden come to a halt. Could it be that there is not enough budget to carry out the exercise?

THAT’S WHY

In a conversation heard at a grocer shop, one man to another: “The politicians are fighting, that is why we have so much violence and crime in the country.”
