Between the Lines

INJECTION

Imagine getting a man to partially drop his shorts, so he could be given an injection in the rear in broad daylight and in full view of motorists! In fact, it happened on Monday next to the Vaitele traffic lights.

MOH LINK

There was a MOH vehicle parked on the driveway into a gas company’s premises when the injection was administered. Fingers crossed that’s not how the latest flu vaccine will be rolled out to members of the public!

GUN SAFE?

Interesting declaration by the country’s top cop recently on Samoa being safe from guns. It’s best to make such a declaration after the container x-ray scanner at Matautu wharf is up and running.

POLITICS

Samoa’s next general election is scheduled for 2026. But two local media houses have already drawn the battle lines, with one aligned to the Government and the other to the Opposition!

NOTICES

It’s great State-owned entities are using social media platforms to advise customers of power or water outages. But it doesn’t help when the notices go up minutes before the outage, catching people off-guard.

WOMEN

About 20-30 years ago people would be shocked seeing more women graduate with carpentry skills than men. The lopsided number at a recent graduation probably points to the evolution of parental roles at home?
