LeteIe Tamati, 17, Malua.

"I was not aware that the time had switched to daylight savings on Sunday because I thought the policy had been abolished, but when I woke up on Sunday I found myself arriving an hour early to the morning service. There were no notices or any announcement that the time will be changed, so I was surprised by the event."

Shekinah Aiolupotea, 19, Alafua.

"On Sunday the whole of Samoa was shocked when they woke up to the daylight savings time automatically put in place, it caused confusion as people were not aware the policy was implemented. Even today most students came early because they still don't know their time is incorrect and one hour early."

John Atapo, 22, Vaitele and Fa'ala.

"I just came from the 8am ferry from Savai'i to go to university for my first lecture of the day. When I was waiting for a bus this morning I saw the time on my phone was 4:00am, I didn't know it was actually 3am. The bus came at around five so I'm very tired after waiting for a long time. There should have been a heads-up issued by the Government so that people would have been aware."

Seitaua Lesa, 18, Vailima.

"We were really surprised by the change on Sunday, our church service starts at 7:30am, we arrived there thinking we were on time but later we found out we arrived an hour early. It was then that we realized we were on the wrong time, every phone and computer's clock had switched automatically to daylight savings which caused the misunderstanding."

Tioata Nofoaiga, Savaia Lefaga, 18.

"There was a lot of confusion on Sunday morning with people arriving to church early finding out the time hasn't been changed except on their phones which automatically switched to daylight savings time. I think the fault of the misunderstanding is with tech giants Vodafone and Digicel for not knowing the daylight savings time had been discarded."

Ieros Misiuki, 17, Faleula.

"The sudden change from normal time to daylight savings time made a lot of people early for their scheduled activities on Sunday. Even me and my siblings got to Sunday school while it was still dark early in the morning at around 6:00am. I don't know why this happened when the Government already said that there wasn't going to be daylight savings."

Fotu Ameto, 21, Vaitele-Uta.

"There was a lot of hassle caused by the change, such as people getting up too early in line with their schedule and confused because we thought that the daylight savings was now removed. Our church service started early at around 6:30 normal time, because our reverend was not also aware that the time is now earlier than usual. The network companies and tech companies Digicel and Vodafone should have known that the Daylight Savings initiative is no more."

Foliga Tanuvasa,20, Fatausi.

"I was aware of the change on Sunday because I had set my alarm on when daylight savings was going to begin this year. But I saw a lot of people were shocked and confused when they were told that the time had been changed, I think this is all because we weren't notified by the authorities about the policy being scrapped this year."
