Samoa retains U20 Oceania Rugby trophy

The Oceania Rugby has announced that the Samoa U20 squad will be retain the trophy and the championship title for the Oceania Rugby U20 following their win 36-3 against Tonga last year.
The Oceania Rugby Competitions Manager, Wayne Schuster, made the announcement through the Oceania rugby website and cited ongoing travel restrictions and relevant government and public health authority advice which made it difficult for the tournament to be successfully hosted.
“Unfortunately rescheduling or postponing this year’s event would also not be realistic under the current circumstances," said Schuster.
Oceania Rugby continues to adjust the 2021 tournament schedule and said it is looking forward to regional competitions returning when the time is right.
“We will be ready to roll out our 2021 competitions when border restrictions are lifted and competitions can be held with the player, team management, and tournament staff welfare our top consideration," he added.
