Too little too late.

That’s the lesson for the Manu Samoa Sevens who mounted a comeback against England in the quarterfinal of the Silicon Valley Sevens in the United States only to find it was too late.

They allowed England way too much breathing space when they led 20-0 at the break.

Tries from Jacob Ale and Malu Falaniko in the second spell gave Samoa some hope and with a third try being denied on the stroke of fulltime, at least the team showed potency with the ball in hand.

They need to continue that when they play off for the plate.

On the first day of the tournament, Samoa defeated Ireland, 10-5, drew with England, 14-14 before defeating Canada, 17-12.

The tournament is part of the build up to the H.S.B.C Sevens Series which kicks off in Dubai.
