S.V.S.G. rejects moves to legalise abortion
The country’s only refuge for sexual abuse victims says it doesn’t support the United Nations’ recommendations for abortion to be legalised in Samoa.
The Samoa Victim Support Group (S.V.S.G.) President Siliniu Lina Chang, who is currently in New Zealand, told the Samoa Observer in a telephone interview that her not-for-profit organisation is firm in its position not to support the legalisation of abortion and they would “wash our hands clean of being part of anything like that”.
