Palolo sellers defend high prices

Palolo sellers have defended charging customers up to $1000 for a pail's worth of the delicacy, saying a lot of hard work goes into catching Samoa's favorite seafood rarity. 

Apia’s fish market at Fugalei was a hive of activity on Thursday morning as villagers brought in their palolo to sell, some of them arriving at the market at the break of dawn, straight after harvesting the much sought-after seafood.
