A mother from Salamumu is the final winner of Vodafone Samoa’s Home Renovation promotion and has received a $10,000 tala voucher.

Salome Matua was one of five contestants with the chance to get the voucher in a “lucky pouch” competition that was held last Friday and she picked the winning voucher that scooped her the $10,000 tala voucher.

She said she will use the Home Renovation voucher to extend her family home which is in need of maintenance and an extension before the wet season sets in.

“Thank you Vodafone, this voucher will go a long way,” Mrs. Matua said. “We’ve been in need of maintaining and upgrading our home, but have never had the extra funds to do so. 

“I appreciate all that you do within our communities and encourage others to make the switch today, too.”

Vodafone Samoa C.E.O. Nofoasaefa Satish Sharma, giving background behind his company’s Home Renovation initiative, said they have seen stories of families in need of assistance in the Samoa Observer's Village Voice section.

“We’ve come across stories on the Samoa Observer regarding families living in uncomfortable conditions,” Nofoasaefa said.

“To help our team worked hard to put together a Home Renovation promotion to provide our customers an opportunity of a lifetime.

“The Home Renovation promotion is valued at a total of $55,000 tala split between 10 golden winners.”

Nofoasaefa then emphasised how family values are important to Vodafone hence their decision to move from brand new vehicle prizes to another first in Samoa, the Home Renovation vouchers to assist families build comfortable homes of their dreams.

The promotion started a few days before Mother’s Day on 5 May and runs for 10 weeks.

It consisted of 9 x $5,000 tala home renovation vouchers which are won on a weekly basis plus the grand prize of 1 x $10,000 tala won on the final week.

Last Friday Vodafone presented the opportunity to win final grand prize of $10,000 to five contestants who had equal opportunities to win through the lucky pouch with Mrs. Matua coming out the winner. 

The other contestants who did not win were still able to each walk away with a handset and merchandise.

For those members of the public who didn’t win, Nofoasaefa indicated that there is a Father’s Day promotion coming.
